.....ADVANCED IMAGING

Advanced Imaging of Gadsden

Advanced Imaging offers the highest fidelity images with the Toshiba Aplio® Ultrasound Machine, the latest in ultrasound computer hardware platforms. Aplio's Advanced Dynamic Flow and Differential Tissue Harmonic Imaging software creates better images. With the latest hardware and software, it generates better images, literally the difference in technology between Pac Man and X-Box.

From start to finish, our ultrasound exam is simply better. Fast scheduling, easy outpatient access, a dedicated ultrasound table (the only one in the area), direct bathroom access from the ultrasound room, and helpful staff all make your exam more comfortable and convenient.

Diagnostic Confidence
Outstanding clinical performance is the result of two elements: the Tera Processing Beamformer and Intelligent Component Architecture, which acquire and process large volumes of high-resolution data. Better technology means better images.

  • More comfortable exams mean better images.
  • Easier scheduling and access mean maximum convenience for your busy schedule.

What is an Ultrasound?
Ultrasound, Ultrasonography, or Sonography is the use of sound waves to generate an image used for assessment and diagnosis of various medical conditions.

The human body is 97% water, and sound waves are transmitted through it like sonar through the ocean. Internal organs show up like fish on a depth finder.

This technology has many applications in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. Most people associate sonograms with obstetrics and the viewing of the baby in the womb, but this technique can also image other body organs.

Diagnostic medical sonographers use a transducer to direct high frequency sound waves into areas of interest in the patient's body. Reflected sound waves are collected and decoded by the computer and software in the ultrasound machine processor to form an image. These images may be videotaped, transmitted, or photographed for interpretation and diagnosis by a physician.

What can you expect from your Ultrasound Examination?

  • You will be asked to lie still during the procedure.
  • It takes from 5-15 minutes to perform the scan.
  • It is a non-invasive procedure.
  • Ultrasound scans do not use any x-ray or other types of potentially harmful radiation.
  • Abdomen and Gallbladder examination requires a FULL gallbladder. Eating causes the gallbladder to empty and interferes with the test. Do not eat for 8 hours before this exam.
  • Female pelvic (uterus and ovaries) exam requires a FULL bladder. Drink 32 ounces of liquids 1 hour before you arrive. Do not go to the restroom before your test.
  • Kidney Ultrasound requires an empty stomach to see the kidneys optimally. Do not eat 4 hours prior to your test. Drink about 20 ounces of fluid before your exam.
